Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point One of the great thing about Changi Bay Point is that not only is there great scenery – there are also many butterflies and birds. I think Nparks have done a great job of doing up the place although a big chunk of the wild between it and Changi Coastal… Continue reading Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point

Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Back in 2022, Nparks opened up a new scenic walk to the east of Singapore. That period was still in the tail end of Covid and overseas travel was still not allowed. As such when Changi Bay Point was opened – travel starved people went all the way to the East just to bake in… Continue reading Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Singapore – Garden by the Bay
Been some time since I visited the Garden by the Bay. Since recently many places in the world was getting the Aurora Borealis, co-incidental or not, the Garden by the Bay launched Borealis, a new immersive light and sound installation at the Supertree Grove. So like thousand other minions who are too poor to fly to other countries to view the Northern Lights, we dutifully make our way down to Garden by the Bay for what we hope would be a mini Northern Lights.
Bidadari Park
Not exactly a park. Just a patch of forest land that is soon going to go the way of the dodo bird. So thought before it disappear forever, to go down there and try to take a shot at the birds that abound there. And I wasn’t disappeared. Could hear many different type of bird… Continue reading Bidadari Park
Jurong Eco Garden
Been meaning to drop by the Jurong Eco Garden but never had the time until recently. Not very easy to find place set within NTU itself and with small teeny weeny signboard. To get there, it is easier to look for Thow Kwang Pottery, the last remaining kiln in Singapore. The Jurong Eco Garden is… Continue reading Jurong Eco Garden
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Extension
When the Nparks announced the opening of the extension, I was fairly excited. So one afternoon I went there only to discover that it was the former Kranji Trail which I had visited before and which sadly is now “sanitised to become the new Sungei Buloh Extension. The former nice trail has been partially replaced… Continue reading Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Extension
Flowers of Scotland
One great thing about cooler temperature country is the variety of colorful flowers. In Scotland, there are beautiful wild flowers everywhere. And then there are the planted flowers in gardens and homes. We couldn’t get enough of the flowers and visited 2 Botanic Garden – 1 in Glasgow and 1 in Edinburgh. Here are just… Continue reading Flowers of Scotland
Singapore Garden Festival 2014
I have been going to the Singapore Garden Festival for the past few years. Usually it is held indoor at Suntec City but this year they decided to have it at Garden by the Bay South which was pretty cool or so I thought. I first went on a Tuesday with a group. It rained… Continue reading Singapore Garden Festival 2014
Tiger Orchid
Mother Nature seems to be having fun with Singapore the past months. First there was this flower bloom all over. Then came the Tropical Swallowtail moth. And now there is this Tiger Orchid blooming all over Singapore. I first heard about the blooming in the papers. Before that I swear I never even seen a… Continue reading Tiger Orchid
MacRitchie Reservoir
I go to MacRitchie Reservoir pretty often. Most times to run. Very rarely for any other things. During a run, it is pretty difficult to spot anything except maybe the monkeys or occasional monitor lizards. Some people have spotted snakes but while I seen them, this was not during a run but a hike. Recently I… Continue reading MacRitchie Reservoir
