Took a stroll one evening down Little India. Passed by many times always in a vehicle and hardly ever walk there. Guess the thought of the crowd deter me. Decided the best time was to go after work on a weekday where may be possibly be less people. Took the train to Tekka and walked… Continue reading Singapore – Little India

Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point
Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point One of the great thing about Changi Bay Point is that not only is there great scenery – there are also many butterflies and birds. I think Nparks have done a great job of doing up the place although a big chunk of the wild between it and Changi Coastal… Continue reading Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point
Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Back in 2022, Nparks opened up a new scenic walk to the east of Singapore. That period was still in the tail end of Covid and overseas travel was still not allowed. As such when Changi Bay Point was opened – travel starved people went all the way to the East just to bake in… Continue reading Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Singapore – Garden by the Bay
Been some time since I visited the Garden by the Bay. Since recently many places in the world was getting the Aurora Borealis, co-incidental or not, the Garden by the Bay launched Borealis, a new immersive light and sound installation at the Supertree Grove. So like thousand other minions who are too poor to fly to other countries to view the Northern Lights, we dutifully make our way down to Garden by the Bay for what we hope would be a mini Northern Lights.
Bidadari Park
Not exactly a park. Just a patch of forest land that is soon going to go the way of the dodo bird. Could hear many different type of bird… Continue reading Bidadari Park
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Extension

So one afternoon I went there only to discover that it was the former Kranji Trail which I had visited before and which sadly is now “sanitised to become the new Sungei Buloh Extension. The former nice trail has been partially replaced… Continue reading Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Extension
The Quest for the Merlion
Everybody know the national emblem of Singapore is not the Lion but the mutant Merlion, a product of cross mating between a lion and a giant fish. Legend has it that the Merlion was caught in the sea somewhere off the Esplanade and so the wise gahmen decided to build a statue of it there… Continue reading The Quest for the Merlion
Chin Mee Chin Confectionery
Probably the last of its kind left in Singapore, Chin Mee Chin Confectionery or CMC as it is popularly called in Katong is a old style Hainanese coffee shop serving beverages and bread served the traditional way. Inside the 2 old style glass cabinets are trays of freshly baked buns Authentic custard tarts. And… Continue reading Chin Mee Chin Confectionery
The Prawn Noodles Shootout
A friend posted a link to a webpage review of the 6 “best” prawn noodles in Singapore. One thing led to another and soon we were talking of doing our own tasting. A wicked idea then came to us. Instead of going to the different outlets over several days, why not do it all on… Continue reading The Prawn Noodles Shootout
Singapore Garden Festival 2014
I have been going to the Singapore Garden Festival for the past few years. Usually it is held indoor at Suntec City but this year they decided to have it at Garden by the Bay South which was pretty cool or so I thought. I first went on a Tuesday with a group. It rained… Continue reading Singapore Garden Festival 2014
