Took a stroll one evening down Little India. Passed by many times always in a vehicle and hardly ever walk there. Guess the thought of the crowd deter me. Decided the best time was to go after work on a weekday where may be possibly be less people. Took the train to Tekka and walked… Continue reading Singapore – Little India

Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point
Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point One of the great thing about Changi Bay Point is that not only is there great scenery – there are also many butterflies and birds. I think Nparks have done a great job of doing up the place although a big chunk of the wild between it and Changi Coastal… Continue reading Butterflies @ Changi Bay Point
Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Back in 2022, Nparks opened up a new scenic walk to the east of Singapore. That period was still in the tail end of Covid and overseas travel was still not allowed. As such when Changi Bay Point was opened – travel starved people went all the way to the East just to bake in… Continue reading Singapore – Changi Bay Point
Singapore – Garden by the Bay
Been some time since I visited the Garden by the Bay. Since recently many places in the world was getting the Aurora Borealis, co-incidental or not, the Garden by the Bay launched Borealis, a new immersive light and sound installation at the Supertree Grove. So like thousand other minions who are too poor to fly to other countries to view the Northern Lights, we dutifully make our way down to Garden by the Bay for what we hope would be a mini Northern Lights.
Birding Holidays – Bempton Cliffs
Finally the reason for the trip to this ulu place. Bempton Cliffs. We woke up bright and early and after breakfast drove straight there. It wasn’t as far as we expected and so we reached before the official opening time. We were not the first though. Many other visitors had already arrived. There was supposed… Continue reading Birding Holidays – Bempton Cliffs
Birding Holidays – Bridlington, East Yorkshire, England
had seen seals before on previous trips to the UK but never this close. Even though we were on top of the cliff while they were like about 50 metres below – this was awesome. I went as close as I dare closer t the edge, the wind was raging here, and with my zoom lens managed to zoom in and get some details.
Roman Holidays – Rome part 2
We spent 2 and a half day in Rome and Rome was surprisingly walkable. Except for the trip from the train station and to the airport where we took taxi, we walked everywhere else.
Roman Holidays – Rome
From Sorrento to Rome and it rained 3/4 of the time we were there! Still we managed to visit the 2 most visited places in Italy – the Colosseum and Vatican City. We did not get a walking tour for the Colosseum but instead just bought tickets in advance. That supposingly allow us to sort… Continue reading Roman Holidays – Rome
Roman Holidays – Sorrento
After dull Naples, Sorrento was a sight for sore eyes. It was bright, clean and fun – all the things a tourist destination should be with the sun, the sea and beautiful view. In fact, Sorrento is 100% a tourist town and nothing else with everything obviously designed to attract tourists. Even the streets are… Continue reading Roman Holidays – Sorrento
Roman Holidays – Pompeii & Mt Vesuvius
Like all good tourists visiting Italy, we have to visit Pompeii. To get there, we decided that it was more practical to sign up for a guided tour rather than go there ourselves even though it was much more expensive. The place was packed with visitors even though it was supposed to be off peak.… Continue reading Roman Holidays – Pompeii & Mt Vesuvius
